Orinoco River

Orinoco River is a spectacular river that mostly flows through the country of Venezuela. The source of the river is  a spring called Mount Delgado Chalbaud. The Orinoco River in the wet season can reach up to about 14 miles across and 330 feet deep.  It is a hub for wildlife and plants too. It mostly goes through savanna in the Llanos and rainforest. It is a giant arc mostly around Venezuela that is about 2740 kilometers long. The river basin covers about 948,000 kilometers about ⅘ of Venezuela. The river stretches from the mouth at the Atlantic Ocean to the source in the Guiana Highlands. It also is home to thousands of species of fish and the endangered Orinoco Crocodile and many more species. The Orinoco also has an economic role in South America and in Venezuela specifically, because the river is mostly navigable by water vessels which makes it an important transport route for imports and exports.
